Hg––The Liquid

Ward Tietz is a poet and word artist best known for his installations and performances using large three-dimensional letters and words.  Working in a variety of media, from sculpture to works on paper, he has exhibited and performed his work in galleries, festivals, art centers and museums in the United Sates and Europe since the late 1980s.  Ward’s current work includes Hg-The Liquid, a book of rubrical visual poetry and Ow the Rockies, a limited-edition artist’s book made of cast glass. 

Ward holds a BA from Carnegie Mellon University, an MA from Brown University and a PhD from the University of Geneva.  He teaches at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
